Viva Mexico! What a wonderful country. Of course, with Mexico right on the other side of the Texas border, and with so many Mexican-Americans living here in the Houston area, there is Mexican influence all around us. You can see it in the art, and hear it in the music. And, it seems like there's a Mexican food restaurant on every corner! (That's fine with me... I love the stuff!) By the way, there's also a major Mexican Consulate office here in Houston, where you can get information and assistance on traveling to Mexico.
I love to travel to Mexico. Unfortunately, many of the border towns are not very safe to visit right now. However, if you fly into the interior of Mexico, and stick to the main tourist areas, you'll probably have a very enjoyable, safe time. And, those destinations are usually relatively safe, if you just take common-sense precautions, as you should anywhere (even here in Houston!)
Check back here at this page soon. I'm currently updating information on some of the destinations I've visited in Mexico and featured on my current radio show (and previous radio & TV shows.) Soon, I'll have my personal recommendations here for where to stay, where to eat, what to do, etc., at destinations like:
